Did You Know Greece Always Appears First In The Olympic Parade & Here’s Why

If you watch the Olympics, you must have seen the opening ceremony of the same. You might have noticed that Greece was the first country to walk during the parade of athletes and then the rest followed in alphabetical order. But why so? Why did Greece open the parade? Here’s why:

In 1896, the Olympics (then called Modern Games) originated in Greece. Hence Greece walks first for being the nation that founded this gorgeous event. In 2004, the Olympics were held in their home country: Greece. Hence they now got the opportunity to first walk first in the parade and then walk at the last as well (since the home country walks last).
