Now Make Free International Calls From The Dubai Metro Station This Ramadan

Ramadan is the season of family and togetherness. However, the reality is that most of us who live here are actually very far away from our families, and the only way to experience the feeling of ‘togetherness’ is by hearing the voices of our loved ones on the phone. That’s why this Ramadan, RTA is launching a new campaign, ‘We Bring You Closer,’ where Dubai metro users can now make free international calls during the holy month. Come with me, and I’ll tell you everything you need to know about the great new campaign.

Bridging The Distance With Phone Booths

In collaboration with Keolis, the operator of Dubai Metro, and Tram, four special telephone booths have been installed at key stations like Al Ghubaiba, Union, and Jebel Ali. For the millions of expats in Dubai separated from family during Ramadan, these phone booths offer users the chance to strengthen familial bonds and reconnect with friends in a meaningful way.

Other RTA Initiatives During Ramadan

Under the theme “Journey of Good,” RTA has rolled out a series of humanitarian initiatives throughout Ramadan. With the help of volunteers from RTA and Keolis, these initiatives aim to foster community engagement and teamwork, embodying the essence of the holy month. Let’s take a look at a few initiatives:

Modes Of Good

One standout initiative is the Modes of Good, an expansion of RTA’s annual Meals On Wheels program. This initiative mobilizes RTA staff and volunteers to prepare and distribute 8,000 meals during Ramadan, reaching out to various segments of the community, including bus drivers, delivery bikers, truck drivers, and Abra riders. It’s not just about providing meals; it’s about spreading goodwill and strengthening community bonds.

The Ramadan Tent Project

In collaboration with charitable societies like the Beit Al Khair Society, RTA is launching the Ramadan Tent Project. This initiative aims to provide 2000 Iftar meals to fasting individuals by setting up dedicated tents. It’s a gesture of compassion that resonates with the spirit of Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of sharing blessings with those in need.

Empowering Employees – Internal Initiatives

RTA doesn’t just focus on external outreach; it also nurtures its own community of employees. Initiatives like the How to Prepare for Ramadan workshops promote healthy fasting habits and balanced diets among staff members. Additionally, events like the Ramadan Bazaar and Iftar Gathering bring employees and leaders together over iftar meals, fostering a culture of unity and tolerance within the organization.

Through initiatives like free international calls on the metro, charitable projects, and employee engagement programs, RTA is spreading the message of goodwill and solidarity, making this holy month truly special for everyone in the city.
