Mitthu, an African Grey parrot, flew through an open balcony door in Bur Dubai on Monday afternoon and hasn’t been seen since. The parrot’s family is offering AED 4,000 to whoever helps them to track down their parrot.
“We are distraught. Mitthu is like a family member. He’s been with us for 12 years now. I don’t know how we could possibly manage without him. My parents are particularly close to him,” Arun Kumar told Khaleej Times.

A loud noise startled the talking parrot, who flew out the open balcony door. Mithu has taken off for the second time. Last year, he escaped and hurt his leg, which cost AED7,000 in vet bills.
“Mitthu got frightened by the noise. Its natural survival instinct kicked in and he just took off. Unfortunately, the wind was fierce yesterday so it could have been blown far away. We are offering a Dh4,000 reward to anyone who finds him. He has a silver band on his left foot with a number on it,” he said.
