Visitors to the Expo will now be able to experience a prototype of the ‘Floating Smart Police Station’ model in person! According to a Dubai Police spokesman at Fazaa Pavilion, where the prototype is being shown as part of the UAE Innovation Week, these smart police stations are mostly for individuals living beyond the mainland, such as The World Islands.
Such floating stations will provide inhabitants with unmanned, innovative e-police services and will be operational once the giant man-made island is officially opened. The station will serve boat and yacht owners, as well as water sports enthusiasts.
People of the islands may use their boats to get to these stations and use criminal, traffic, and community services such as paying fines and reporting crimes – all without the involvement of any police officials. The centre will remain in contact with the HQ and provide services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will also promote public safety through smart technology and help in educating the community about the need of safeguarding marine life.
The floating police station is a three-story structure with two levels above water and one below. It’s similar to floating sea horse villas, but it’s equipped with smart technology. The first level will include devices that will help the user with services, while the upper deck will have a surveillance drone. The undersea deck will include a mechanical belly that will assist the station in functioning and staying afloat.
