The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared that the period from 29 Ramadan to 3 Shawwal 1443 will be a paid vacation for all private-sector workers in celebration of Eid al Fitr. This was stated in a circular issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in response to the Federal Cabinet’s decision on the calendar of official holidays.
If Ramadan lasts for 30 days, Eid will fall on Monday, May 2. (Shawwal 1). Employees in the UAE will have a five-day weekend that includes from April 30th to May 4th. If Ramadan is only 29 days long (based on moon sightings), Eid Al Fitr will fall on Sunday, May 1 (Shawwal 1), and residents will have a 4-day long weekend from Saturday, April 30 to Tuesday, May 3.

The UAE Cabinet approved a decision on Thursday to extend the Eid Al Fitr holidays for a week, beginning on Saturday, April 30 and ending on Friday, May 6 for the public sector. The decision applies to all UAE ministries and federal entities. On Monday, May 9, work will resume. This means that employees from all ministries and federal agencies will have a nine-day holiday. The Sharjah Human Resources Department revised its Eid Al Fitr holiday to begin on April 30 and end on May 8, by the Cabinet decision. On May 9, work will be resumed.
