Between Monday, May 9 and Wednesday, June 22, Dubai International Airport (DXB) will close its northern runway for 45 days for scheduled maintenance, affecting up to 1,000 aircraft each week. Flights will operate from DXB’s southern runway during this repair or will relocate to Dubai’s secondary hub, Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) or Sharjah International Airport.
Here is the list of flights which will be affected:
Spice Jet:
Spice Jet flights to Amritsar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Pune are among those affected by the runway shutdown, with operations shifting to DWC. However, not all flights will change airports, so travellers should check their departure and arrival times, as well as the airport, before travelling.
FlyDubai:
Flydubai has stated that DWC would serve 34 destinations, including Oman, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. The complete list of flights relocating to DWC is available here. If your destination is not on that list, your flight will depart from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 at DXB as usual.
IndiGo Airlines:
According to Khaleej Times, IndiGo Airlines has informed passengers to expect schedule modifications during the DXB runway shutdown. The airline notified to its travel partners that certain flights will operate from DWC, while others will remain at DXB.
Air India Express:
Mangalore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Amritsar, Jaipur, and Lucknow will be served by Air India Express flights from either DWC or Sharjah Airport.
Gulf Air:
According to a notification on the Gulf Air website, the majority of the Bahrain-based airline’s operations will continue to operate to and from DXB, with certain flights shifting to Al Maktoum International. Although no list of impacted flights has been released, customers are encouraged to check the “Manage My Booking” tab on the Gulf Air website for flight details.
