Booster Shots For COVID-19 Vaccine For Fully Vaccinated Adults Now Approved By The UAE

Adults who have received complete doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Sputnik vaccines are eligible for COVID-19 booster injections. The Ministry of Health and Prevention has approved a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccination for anyone over the age of 18 who had their second dosage six months ago.

Given rising COVID-19 cases worldwide and mounting worries about the new Omicron form, the government of the United Arab Emirates is advising individuals to register for their third vaccination as soon as possible.  On Sunday, November 28, a news conference was held to announce the instruction. To keep everyone safe, the COVID-19 rules in the UAE continue to emphasise the necessity of keeping physical distance, regular hand washing, and wearing masks.

Before the introduction of the coronavirus booster shot, those in the UAE who had previously received Pfizer-BioNTech or Russia-developed Sputnik vaccinations and had health issues, or those aged 18 to 59 working on the front lines, were not eligible for booster shots. Similarly, those who received the Sinopharm vaccine in the United Arab Emirates had a September ultimatum to acquire booster injections if they had been inoculated more than six months before.
