Expo 2020 Honours 200,000 Workers By Writing Their Names On Stone Columns

A permanent row of stone columns has been created at the heart of Expo 2020 to honour the 200,000 workers who built the entire site. The columns carry the names of the workers who built the site over the last few years. Along with the names, there’s a Workers’ Portrait Series which also include quotes and photos from some of the workforce.

Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai, said of the workers: “Each of them deserves our sincere thanks and appreciation for their tremendous efforts.”
