UAE Kids Can Now Participate In A Best Out Of Waste Outfit Competition

Parents of a middle school child know how much art and craft supplies they have in their cupboards. What once used to be filled with crookery and fancy utensils is now loaded with things like papers, sketch pens, colours, etc. So kids between the ages 12 and 18 get ready, your time has come! This idea was transformed into a project by Troy Armour with the sole purpose of sustainability, recycling and reusing.

Junk Kouture is a project all about inspiring teens to create and design outfits 100% out of rubbish. If you have a knack for designing and colours, this is your thing! The only criteria you have to meet is that you should be between the age of 12 and 18 and the product your design or create should be 100% made of waste. You can even team up with your friends and make it a group project!

Troy Armour, the founder of Junk Kouture says: “It is a hugely exciting time for Junk Kouture. Having been forced to reimagine what Junk Kouture had become over the past ten years, our move to the digital space, coupled with our international expansion plans allowed us to accelerate bringing Junk Kouture to new audiences throughout the world. The programme promotes the empowerment of young people, by challenging them to be creative and resourceful in the design process. Our community is built of like-minded creatives, and we can’t wait to see what the young people of UAE bring to the competition in 2021 and beyond.“
