Meta-owned WhatsApp will reportedly stop working on some Android phones and iPhones from December 31st. Users will not be able to use the app on their phones, unless they upgrade the latter. Read on to know more:

WhatsApp To Stop Working On These Smartphones From Dec 31
According to SamMobile, WhatsApp will stop working on older models of the iPhone, Huawei, LG, and Samsung. Following is the device list:
Samsung:
Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Core, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy Trend Lite and Galaxy Xcover 2.
Huawei:
Huawei Ascend D, Huawei Ascend D1, Huawei Ascend D2, Huawei Ascend G740, Huawei Ascend Mate and Huawei Ascend P1
LG:

Those with iPhones need to ensure they upgrade from iOS 10 and iOS 11 versions, as they are now outdated operating systems and will no longer support WhatsApp. To update the operating system on an iPhone go to the ‘general’ settings and select ‘software update
