On Saturday, April 19, the Dubai Fountain put on its last dazzling show before taking a 5-month break for some serious upgrades. And I’d bet my boots you’re already seeing the show, because same here. But luckily, Emaar isn’t leaving us high and dry (no pun instead, of course). While we wait for the pinnacle of Downtown Dubai to reemerge in October, Emaar has something else up their sleeves to keep us entertained. I have all the details you want to know, so keep reading to find out more.
A Fresh Experience On The Promenade
To keep things lively while the fountain gets its facelift, Emaar is rolling out a brand-new attraction around the promenade. Get ready for 500 metres of cutting-edge digital screens lighting up the space with eye-catching visuals! These screens will add energy and excitement to the area outside Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar, two hotspots that usually draw big crowds thanks to their picture-perfect views of the fountain and Burj Khalifa. So while the fountain takes a break, you won’t have to feel it’s absence too much.
How Emaar Is Supporting Those Who Will Be Affected The Most
And while the fountain show steps away for a while, Emaar is not forgetting about people who will be affected by it the most – the local businesses in Dubai Mall. About 50 restaurants with terraces that usually overlook the lake and fountain are getting a helping hand. Their rent will generously be waived for 4 months, from June to September. It’s a thoughtful move, especially since these spots are likely to see fewer visitors until the show is back.
Even without the fountain performances, you’ll still get amazing views of the Burj Khalifa and it’s light show.
