Just days after Katy Perry and Benson Boone were announced, the legendary heavy metal giants have been confirmed as the third headlining act for the Yasalam After-Race Concert! They’ll be rocking the stage on night 3 of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, Saturday, December 6. And yes, it’s going to be LOUD. This is Metallica, after all. Over Four Decades Of Metal Mayhem
Since forming in 1981, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo have sold 125 million albums, picked up 9 Grammys, and delivered some of the most powerful live performances the world has ever seen. Their hits? Oh, just a casual roll call of rock’s greatest: ‘Enter Sandman’, ‘Master of Puppets’, ‘Nothing Else Matters’, and ‘Fade to Black’ – and that’s just to name a few. Their current M72 World Tour has already played to 3 million fans worldwide, and now, Abu Dhabi is next in line for the mayhem. This will be the band’s third appearance in the UAE, and if their 2011 and 2013 shows are anything to go by, this one is going to blow the roof off Etihad Park. Metallica joins an already stacked weekend lineup. First up we have Gen-Z heartthrob Benson Boone to open the After-Race Concerts on Thursday, December 4. While global pop queen Katy Perry will close the weekend with a glitter-filled performance on Sunday, December 7. And Saturday, December 6, belongs to Metallica. It’s the day rock fans have been waiting for. But Friday? F1 fans and concert goers are on the edge of their seat waiting to find out who the fourth and final headliner for the Yasalam concert series will be!
