What Is Expo City Dubai?

Expo City Dubai is a place to fuel imaginations, challenge ideas and inspire the leaders of tomorrow. Expo showcases technology redefining the way we live in a 5G-enabled, state-of-the-art city. Sustainability is embedded throughout the city, from the architecture to the school learning programmes.

The Attractions At Expo City Dubai

  1. Alif – The Mobility Pavilion

Designed to spark wonder about the history of mobility, Alif – the Mobility Pavilion, takes visitors on an unforgettable journey across space and time. From the awe-inspiring giants of Arab Civilization to the pioneering Emirates Mars Mission, discover how mobility has driven human progress throughout history and see how artificial intelligence is set to transform the cities we live in and the way we interact.

2. Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion

Go on an immersive journey through the forest’s roots and the ocean’s depths to explore the impact humanity’s choices are having on the environment and gain skills to protect and preserve our planet for generations to come.

This engaging, playful and reflective experience is designed to take visitors of all ages – particularly children – on an emotional journey to understand their impact on the environment and empower them to build a brighter future.

Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion is LEED Platinum Certified and designed to be Net Zero in Energy and Water. The building’s iconic architecture includes a 120-metre-wide canopy and 18 Energy Trees which help generate 4GWh of alternative energy per year.

3. Around The World

Hop on this beautiful Italian-made carousel with hand painted images of past World Expos. Enjoy a ride like no other while sitting on a horse, inside a tea cup or simply relaxing inside a rocking chariot or on a bench.

4. Garden In the Sky

Dubbed ‘the flying park’, Garden in the Sky is a rotating observation tower that lifts visitors 55 metres above ground for beautiful panoramic views of the city. Earning its name from its luscious green, tree-lined upper deck, the base of the tower beams with light at night, as do rings around the observation cabins, lending the attraction an out-of-this-world glow.

5. Vision Pavilion

Witness the great transformation of Dubai into a modern metropolis through the Vision Pavilion, a unique experience that celebrates the insight, values and leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Through stunning displays, immersive exhibits and personal stories narrating the evolution of Dubai, the Vision Pavilion tells a story of childhood wonder and how our environment and values can support our ambition and shape our future.

6. Women’s Pavilion

Immerse yourself in the triumphs of women through history, discover the journeys they have taken to challenge imbalances and dive into the stories of the inspirational women shaping our future. The Women’s Pavilion is a dedicated space for meaningful discussions supporting women’s contributions to shaping a more balanced world.

7. Al Wasl Plaza

Named after the Arabic word for “connection”, this unique architectural achievement was known as the beating heart of Expo 2020 Dubai.Its massive steel trellis dome, measuring 67.5 meters high houses the largest 360-degree projection surface in the world. Al Wasl Plaza hosted some of the largest events held at Expo 2020, including the opening and closing ceremonies and incredible live concerts by world-renowned artists including Coldplay, Alicia Keys and Kadim Al Saher.

Free Attractions / Tickets

  • No fee to enter site or visit Al Wasl dome or Surreal water feature
  • The site is also free to visit although the pavilions itself are charged. All charges are mentioned above.
  • Children aged 12 and under and people with special needs can visit all attractions at no charge
  • In an ode to World Teachers’ Day, free entry tickets will be given to educators from October 5 – October 8.
