Save The Date: National Day Is Coming
The next official public holiday on the UAE calendar is National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad. And it’s a pretty big one to look forward to. This year, it falls on Wednesday, December 2nd, marking another year of celebrating everything that makes the UAE such a special place to live and work.
Will It Turn Into A Long Weekend?
Here’s where things get a little uncertain. Traditionally, National Day comes with two days off, but since December 2nd lands right in the middle of the week this year, it’s not yet confirmed whether those days will be shifted to create a longer break. We’ll have to sit tight for official word closer to the date before we know for sure.
Why There’s An Actual Chance For A Public Holiday
The good news is that this isn’t wishful thinking. Thanks to the new cabinet ruling, public holidays in the UAE can now be moved around to fall more conveniently for residents. Giving everyone a better shot at an extended break. The only exception to this flexibility is the Eid holiday, which stays fixed. So while nothing is locked in just yet for National Day, the possibility of a shifted, longer weekend is very much on the table.
Either way, we’ve got a great occasion to look forward to. Whether it ends up being a standard two-day break or gets stretched into a proper long weekend, National Day is always worth celebrating.
