Abu Dhabi, get ready because the city’s nights are about to sparkle in the most magical way possible. Manar Abu Dhabi, the stunning light art festival that stole hearts in 2023, is making a dazzling comeback this November, and it’s going to be even bigger, bolder, and brighter than before. Let’s cut the chitchat here so that I can get into all the stunning details for you!

From Lighthouse To Light Extravaganza
The word Manar means “lighthouse” in Arabic – but this isn’t your average beam in the distance. This is the kind of light that wraps around you, invites you in, and transforms entire coastlines into works of art. Launched by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) as part of the Public Art Abu Dhabi programme, Manar turns the city’s shores, islands, and skyline into one giant, glowing gallery.
Think towering light sculptures you can walk under, dreamlike projections that dance across the water, interactive pieces that respond to your touch, and performances that stir both your senses and your thoughts.

Bigger, Brighter & More Global Than Ever
After its breathtaking debut last year, Manar 2.0 is pulling out all the stops with more than 35 brand-new artworks from artists spanning the globe. From Japan and France to Mexico and right here in the UAE. Expect big names like teamLab, Carsten Höller, Shezad Dawood, Shilpa Gupta, and homegrown creative stars Ahmed Al Areef Al Dhaheri and Nujoom Alghanem.
Every piece has been specially created to respond to Abu Dhabi’s natural beauty, exploring themes of nature, connection, and creativity. Whether you’re an art lover or just someone who appreciates a good sunset photo, this is going to be a feast for the eyes (and definitely your camera roll).

A City-Wide Glow-Up
The magic won’t be confined to one spot. It’s going to be spread across some of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic waterfront locations. You’ll be able to experience the festival along Saadiyat, Jubail, Lulu, Al Samaliyah, and Fahid Islands. As well as the famous Corniche and the lush Eastern Mangroves.
And here’s the best part – you can take it in however you like. Wander along the coastline, hop on a dhow for a cruise through the glowing installations. Or, even simply enjoy the view from the mainland.

Lighting The Way For Abu Dhabi’s Creative Future
Manar is part of a bigger push to weave art into everyday life in the capital. Alongside the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial and a host of ongoing artist commissions. It’s helping shape the city into a hub of culture and creativity.
When to Catch It
Manar Abu Dhabi lights up the city from 15 November 2025, onwards, with the full programme dropping soon. So, mark your calendars, stay tuned to Gulf Buzz for all the updates and prepare to be wowed. Trust me, this is one of those events you’ll want to see in person (and probably more than once).
