Visa Rules For Oman From The UAE
UAE residents do enjoy a 14 day free visa on arrival at the border. We got this confirmed by an immigration officer in Oman while we were traveling. But not everyone is eligible for the same.
People who are on student visas or depended visas (parent, husband etc) have to travel with their sponsor. An NOC letter will also not work at the border. The visa sponsor has to be present for the same if you want a visa on arrival. If you are traveling without them, we highly recommend you to apply for your visa in advance and travel only when you get the visa.
An exit fee will be charged to every UAE resident at the UAE border which will cost AED 35 and they do accept cards.

Car Rules To Enter Oman
For everyone who is taking a car, you need to purchase a car insurance in Oman which can be done at the border itself. You will need your car chaise card.
The insurance will cost you approx AED 105 for 7 days.
Which Border Should You Use To Enter Oman From The UAE?
Now we have got a lot of questions on which border to take and it totally depends on where you are going. But according to us, the best border is the Hatta Border and Al Ain. Now make sure you head to the right border in Al Ain, as one of the borders in Al Ain is only for UAE & Omani Citizens. All residents and expats should take the Khatim Al Shikla border in Al Ain for a smooth entry and exit to and fro Oman.

Oman Now Offers Visa Free Entry To 103 Countries
Oman has opened its doors to tourists from over 103 countries and is now offering visa-free entry for up to 14 days for visitors from a range of countries around the world.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has confirmed that tourists from Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Georgia, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Belgium, Romania, Slovenia, Finland, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Cyprus, Ukraine, Spain, Czech Republic, Austria, Ireland, United Kingdom, Poland, Slovakia, France, Netherlands, Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Thailand, South Africa, Russia, China, the United States of America, Turkey, South Korea, New Zealand, Iran, Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Canada, Malaysia, and Singapore are allowed visa-free entry.
Indian tourists can also obtain a visa on arrival, provided they have an entry visa of the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Schengen countries, Japan, or have a resident permit of one of the GCC countries, and work in a profession approved by the Oman government.
It’s important to note that tourists from the 103 countries have the option to extend their visa-free stay for more than 14 days, but there is a fee applicable for the extension. After the specified period, travellers from these countries must apply online for an e-visa for a fee of OMR 20 for a period of one month. They can also apply for a multi-entry visa for one year, provided that their stay on each visit is not more than a month and that certain conditions are met.
This new initiative from Oman is great news for the tourism industry and will undoubtedly attract more visitors to the country. Oman has a rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and friendly locals, making it a popular destination for tourists from around the world.
