World’s Oldest Man Dies 3 Weeks Before His 113rd Birthday

At the age of 112, a Spaniard who held the Guinness World Record for the world’s oldest man died. Saturnino de la Fuente died yesterday morning at his home in Leon, Spain’s northernmost city.

At the start of February, the father of 8 was just 3 weeks away from celebrating his 113th birthday. In September of last year, the Guinness Book of Records certified the retired shoemaker as the world’s oldest man.

When asked what was the secret of his long life was, he said, “A quiet life and not hurting anyone.” Saturnino de la Fuente died in his home town of León, Spain.
