Think you’re the best barista your living room has ever seen? You could be this year’s Home Coffee Brewing World Champion!

In an effort to keep coffee lovers of the UAE and the world at large engaged and interacting with others, Mokha 1450, Dubai’s leading specialty coffee, is delighted to kick off the world’s first Home Coffee Brewing Championship.

A fun, (free!) feel good competition that everyone can enter, the Home Coffee Brewing Champion will take home USD 2,000 in cash, a Limited Edition custom hand-carved Chemex, and four bags of Mokha 1450’s award-winning Single Origin coffees.

How To Enter

Coffee fans, seasoned baristas, and those brewing coffee at home for the first time can upload a video of themselves to Instagram showcasing their home brewing technique, using the #homecoffeebrewingchampionship hashtag, and tagging Mokha 1450 and World Home Coffee Brewing Championship.

Rules

1. The coffee must be brewed from home – any home
2. Competitors should use whole specialty coffee beans if possible
3. Have fun! (and embrace that all-day loungewear look)

All entries will then be shared to the World Home Coffee Brewing Championship Instagram account where the global coffee community will vote for their favorite presentation, technique, and most importantly the coffee they would most like to drink in a world without a global pandemic if the barista was available and could brew the coffee for you in person. The competition starts on Tuesday, March 31st , and concludes on Tuesday, April 28th .

All entries, one per person, will be accepted up until this date
Based on the tally of votes from the global coffee community, 10 finalists will be announced for the final round of the Home Brewing Championship on May 4th (may the 4 th be with you!). The top 10 video entries will then be reposted and a new three-day period of voting will ensue. The champion, second and third-place finishers will then be announced, based on the tally of votes counted over the three day period, on Thursday, May 7th.
