Alright, folks! Let’s kickstart the weekend with some fabulous news on the travel front. Starting July 1, if you’re a UAE resident, you can swan off to Armenia without a visa. No paperwork drama, no airport stress – just you, your passport. And of course, a lovely residency visa that’s valid for at least six months. That’s it. Previously, only UAE citizens got this visa-free privilege, while the rest of us mere mortals had to faff about with a visa on arrival. But that’s not the case anymore!
Visa-Free: Just Rock Up and Go

Whether it’s a cheeky long weekend, a proper holiday, or even a business jaunt (look at you, jet-setter), you can now stay for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. And it’s not just UAE folks! In fact, residents from all GCC countries (Saudi, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman) are welcome too. And this is irrespective of what passport they hold.

Mountains, Monasteries & Mouthwatering Meals Await
If you’ve never been, Armenia is a bit of a stunner – dramatic mountains, cool breeze, UNESCO-listed monasteries, and delish food (ah, the lavash and khurjin!) that will make you fall in love with life all over again. And don’t even get me started on the fruits – super fresh, juicy and honestly some of the tastiest (not an adjective I’d usually associate with fruits, but here we are!) I’ve ever had – especially the oranges and pomegranates. And the best bit? It’s only about three hours away by plane, with direct flights from flydubai, Wizz Air, and Air Arabia.
The Visa-Free Lovefest Isn’t Random
So, this is all part of a bigger plan to boost tourism and make Armenia a go-to for GCC residents. This fab decision was cooked up at an Armenian cabinet meeting last month, and it’s all set to make your travel plans easier. And Armenia’s no stranger to rolling out the visa-free red carpet – UAE citizens got the green light back in 2017, with Qatar joining the club in 2019, and Kuwait in 2022. Now, it’s our turn. Finally, some good news in the group chat!
So, whether you’re in it for the history, the nature, the food, or just a break from the AC wars at home – Armenia’s got you covered. Start planning, pack your power bank, and for heaven’s sake, bring comfy shoes.
