Abu Dhabi motorists who have committed multiple traffic violations are being urged to take advantage of an initiative that allows them to pay traffic fines in interest-free instalments to avoid having their vehicles impounded under Abu Dhabi’s traffic law.
They were also told to take benefit of the force’s 35% discount if they paid the traffic fines within 2 months of committing the offence and a 25 % discount if they paid the fines within a year.
Abu Dhabi Police said in a social media statement that the initiative, which allows drivers with traffic fines to pay them in instalments based on their affordability, is being carried out in collaboration with five UAE banks. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Mashreq Al Islami, and Emirates Islamic Bank are among these.
Drivers must have credit cards issued by one of these banks to use the service. A motorist must inform the bank directly within 2 weeks of being scheduled to request payment of traffic fines in instalment payments.
