The intended strike occurred on the same day that the United States said it would send fighter planes and a warship to the Emirates in response to previous Houthi attacks. Fifth-generation aircraft and the USS Cole, according to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, will contribute to combating the danger posed by Iran-backed Yemeni rebels. Mr Austin stated that the USS Cole will join the UAE Navy at sea before arriving in Abu Dhabi.
