What Exactly Are the Dubai Games?
For those of you hearing about this iconic event for the first time, let me break it down for you. The Dubai Games is more than just a competition. It’s a team-based adventure where groups represent something they are proud of, whether that’s a government entity, a community, or even a city.
Previously known as the Gov Games, the event has grown into a major international sporting platform. Over 4 action-packed days, teams face purpose-built obstacle courses designed to test both physical strength and mental focus. From fast-paced runs to problem-solving under pressure, every challenge pushes teams to work together and think smart.

Bring Your Crew — Here’s Who Can Join
The Dubai Games is not just for professional athletes. It’s open to anyone who enjoys a challenge and loves working as part of a team.
1. Government Teams
Employees from government entities can take part in the men’s or women’s government categories. Team members must have been with their organisation for at least three months before the competition.
2. Community Teams
UAE residents can form their own teams to represent a community, company or group of friends. Community teams must first compete in a pre-qualification round to secure a spot in the main event.
3. Cities Teams
Cities from around the world can send a team of six participants to compete. Each team must include at least three citizens from the city they represent, making this category a true global showdown.
4. Battle of the Juniors
Young athletes are included too. Children aged 10 to 13 can take part in the junior category, competing in specially designed challenges with support from coaches.
All participants should be in good physical condition and must complete the official registration process for their chosen category.
