So, you were all set to see Coldplay with a big group of friends, but now a few have backed out, and you’re left scrambling to resell their tickets. Don’t stress! While Ticketmaster has some pretty strict rules about reselling, transferring and presenting tickets, I’ve got your back. Here’s a simple guide to help you navigate reselling or transferring your tickets securely.

Want To Buy Second-Hand Tickets?
But first, before I get into anything else – if you are looking to buy second-hand tickets online, please avoid unofficial and third-party sellers at all costs! Coldplay’s Abu Dhabi concerts are strictly digital events, and all tickets can only be accessed via the Ticketmaster app or website. Meaning, whatever mumbo-jumbo those third-party sellers give you will be fake unless they are sent directly into your official Ticketmaster account.
So, if you’re genuinely hoping to still score some last-minute tickets to see the band, your safest option is reaching out to trusted friends or family who already have tickets. They might have extras they’re willing to sell. This way, you’re less likely to get scammed compared to dealing with shady third-party sites that often mass-resell the same few tickets to multiple buyers and in the end no one gets to see the concert but you definitely lost out on a lot of money through that deal.
Remember, without a valid QR code from the Ticketmaster app, you’ll most definitely be denied entry at the venue. Don’t risk your time, money, or the heartbreak of missing out on Coldplay by buying fake tickets online!

But, Can You Transfer Tickets Through Ticketmaster?
Short answer – Yes! If someone wants to buy your ticket or you’re sending it to a friend, the official Ticketmaster app is the only secure way to do it! All Coldplay tickets become available 72 hours before the concert. For example, as of right now tickets for the first concert on Thursday, January 9th show are already accessible, while tickets for the Saturday, January 11th show will be released within a few hours today. Here’s how to transfer tickets securely:
- Log into your Ticketmaster account and go to ‘Upcoming Events.’
- Select the event and click the transfer button.
- Enter your friend’s email address (it must be different from your own).
- Your friend will need a Ticketmaster account to accept the tickets. If they don’t have one, they can create one during the process.
- Once the transfer is accepted, your original barcode for that ticket becomes invalid.
What If You Need To Cancel A Transfer?
You can cancel a ticket transfer as long as the recipient hasn’t accepted it yet. Here’s how:
- Go to ‘Upcoming Events’ in your account.
- Select the order and click ‘Cancel Transfer.’
Keep in mind that once the tickets are accepted, you can’t undo the transfer. However, the recipient can transfer the tickets back to you or to someone else if needed.
Getting Access To The Concert
Before heading to the venue, make sure your valid tickets are ready to be scanned. You can either:
- Show the QR code directly from the Ticketmaster app, or
- Add the ticket to your Apple Wallet and scan it like you’re using Apple Pay. Just hold your phone steady over the scanner until they give you the green light.
Following these steps will save you a lot of hassle at the gates. Now, go enjoy an unforgettable night with Coldplay!
