What Is School Bus Pooling?
This new service allows students living in the same area but attending different schools to share transport. Instead of multiple cars or separate buses, students will travel together in shared luxury SUVs. The goal is simple: reduce costs for families, cut down road congestion, and still keep safety as the top priority.
Who Can Use the Service?
The service is available for students aged 14 and above. In its pilot phase, it will operate in the Al Barsha area. It will serve students attending Bloom Academy, Brighton College, GEMS Founders School, GEMS Al Barsha National School, Dubai American Academy, and the American School of Dubai, along with nearby residential areas.
How Much Will It Cost?
As part of the launch offer, the service is priced at AED 1,000 per month. By sharing transport with other students in the same area, families can reduce the overall cost compared to private transport options.
Safety Comes First
Children’s safety is at the heart of this initiative. Students will be transported from home to school within a maximum travel time of 60 minutes. Helping avoid long and tiring commutes. The use of organised routes, professional drivers, and planned pick-up and drop-off points ensures a secure and structured journey every school day.
Reducing Traffic, One Ride at a Time
By grouping students into shared vehicles, the initiative helps reduce the number of cars on the road during peak school hours. This means smoother traffic flow, and fewer emissions. Not to mention less stress for parents who no longer need to manage daily drop-offs and pick-ups.
What Happens Next?
The pilot phase will begin in Al Barsha within the next two weeks, following strong interest and positive feedback. Once tested, the plan is to expand the service to other areas across Dubai, giving more families access to this safe, affordable, and practical school transport option.
