Residents in the UAE have been excitedly awaiting the start of Ramadan 2022. The Emirates Astronomy Society has announced that the first day of Ramadan in 2022 will be April 2. The first day of Shawwal and Eid Al Fitr will be on Thursday, May 2. Ramadan is scheduled to last 30 days.

Fasting and breakfast will begin around eight minutes earlier in Khor Fakkan in Sharjah than in Abu Dhabi while fasting and breakfast will begin approximately 12 minutes later in Al Ghuwaifat and Al Sila. The morning call to prayer in Khor Fakkan will begin at 04.48 am, while it will begin at 4.56 am in Abu Dhabi and at 5.08 am in Ghuwaifat.
