Its FIFA World Cup season and there’s excitement in the air! Fans are going crazy and an insane number of tickets have been sold already. To add to this amazing event, FIFA wants a “fan village” experience during the competition and have built a tent city where they want to house the spectators during the World Cup, and its causing quite a stir!
The Tent however, is not really a camp but more of a hotel room and these two-person tents at Al Khor will be equipped with air conditioning, a private bathroom, as well as a coffee and tea maker. There will be Wi-Fi, a TV, a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, a fridge, a safe which is basically what you’d find in a standard hotel room. The price of the room is said to be about DH 1500 per night. As hotel bookings fill up, this is probably going to be the cheapest option for fans who want to watch a match or two.
The Tent City is located just about 40 minutes from Doha directly on Farkiah Beach. It will allow you to escape and connect with nature, culture and the beauty of the golden sands. The accommodation is comfortably furnished, filled with contemporary touches and in a style similar to that of a traditional Qatari tent. It is said that the Fan Village at Al Khor will provide a unique Arabian camping experience which will also embody and reflect Qatari customs.
