Before you say, “This sounds too good to be true,” hear me out. The UAE has done this before. Earlier this year, the Islamic New Year got bumped to a Friday to give everyone a proper long weekend. Even though the actual celebrations took place on Thursday, June 26th. It’s all part of the country’s effort to give people more balance between work and life. To add to my reasoning, Commemoration Day is on November 30, which is a Sunday in 2025. In past years, that’s been observed with a day off on December 1. So if the stars align and the government decides to keep that pattern, we could be rolling right into National Day with 3 bonus days off before the actual celebrations even begin!
