Free Public Viewing Areas In Downtown Dubai
For this year’s fireworks show, Emaar has confirmed multiple free public viewing zones across Downtown Dubai on 31st December. Live fireworks, light shows, and entertainment will also be streamed on LED screens along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. All viewing areas operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with access controlled through entry gates. Once capacity is reached, gates will close, so early arrival is strongly recommended.

Everything To Know About Road Closures & Traffic Plan For NYE
If you’re driving to Downtown Dubai for the Burj Khalifa New Year’s Eve event, authorities recommend arriving by 4 PM on 31st December. Several roads will be closed in phases throughout the day to manage crowd movement and safety.

Do keep in mind that a full closure of Sheikh Zayed Road will be in place from 11 PM on 31st December until 2 AM on 2nd January, 2026. Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes in advance.
Additional Travel Advice: All You Need To Know About Dubai Metro Closures
The simplest way to reach Burj Khalifa and watch the NYE fireworks tonight is by public transport. However, the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station will close at 5 PM, or earlier if passenger capacity is reached, so plan your travel accordingly. The Metro will run non-stop for 43 hours, with increased frequency near major celebration areas. Those using the metro for tonight’s celebrations are encouraged to use nearby stations and walk towards Downtown Dubai to avoid delays.
