Lebanon Is Back on the Travel List – But With Conditions

Big news for Emiratis: The UAE has officially lifted its travel ban on Lebanon, effective May 7. So yes, you can finally plan that trip to Beirut – falafel, sea views, and all. But (there’s always a but), before you zip through airport security, you’ll need to jump through a few digital hoops. First up, mandatory registration on the UAE’s Twajudi platform – it’s a safety and tracking system to ensure citizens are accounted for while abroad. And that’s not all, you’ll also need to provide:
- Your accommodation details in Lebanon
- Valid emergency contact info
- The reason for your visit
So yeah, paper work first and Sfiha later, I guess?
Goodbye UAE Exchange Metro Station! Here’s Another Name Change!

Scurrying across the metro station trying to figure out which side goes to Centerpoint and which one leads you to UAE Exchange is never gonna be the same again. Because, the final point on the red line just kissed its long-standing name goodbye.
Under a fresh 10-year naming rights agreement, UAE Exchange Metro Station is now officially called Life Pharmacy Metro Station. Located in Jebel Ali Industrial Area, it remains the last stop on the red line heading toward Jebel Ali, but with a brand-new name and a whole new vibe. So don’t be that person still looking for “UAE Exchange” on the metro map. It’s so 2023!

New Bus Route Alert! Dubai–Sharjah and Ajman–Al Ain Get Connected

Good news for all intercity commuters! On May 2, RTA rolled out a shiny new bus route, E308 connecting Stadium Bus Station in Dubai with Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. The one-way trip costs just AED 12, making it a sweet deal for regular travelers.
And that’s not all – there are changes happening in the northern emirates as well! Ajman’s Public Transport Authority has also launched a new route that connects Al Musalla Bus Station in Ajman to Al Ain Bus Station. These new connections guarantee better commute vibes, fewer traffic tantrums, and possibly more on-time arrivals at work (you’re welcome, boss).
WhatsApp Has Officially Dumped Old iPhones

From this week, WhatsApp no longer works on iPhones running iOS earlier than 15.1. Affected models include:
iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. These phones have officially entered their retired phase – no hardware support, no parts, and now no WhatsApp. If you’re still holding on to one of these relics, it might be time to let go and level up.

Thailand Travel Just Got Digital – No More Paper Forms

If you’ve got Thailand on your summer travel radar, take note: the country just ditched their iconic TM.6 paper arrival form. As of May 1, all foreign visitors must submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering the country. You can complete it up to 3 days before your trip, and it’s mandatory across all entry points – air, land, and sea. It asks for personal and travel info and aims to improve border control and tackle shady stuff like human trafficking. So yeah, don’t show up with a pen and confused face; just go digital, and you’re good.
AI To Be A Mandatory Subject From KG to Grade 12

The UAE Cabinet, earlier this week, has approved the final curriculum to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a subject across all public schools – from kindergarten all the way to Grade 12. Starting 2025-2026, students will learn how to navigate, understand, and maybe even build AI tools. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum confirmed the move, saying it’s part of preparing future generations for a “new world and advanced skills.” Translation: kids will now know more about AI than most adults by the time they’re 12!
