Dubai’s Museum of the Future has proudly announced the addition of a new robotic member to its family, a robodog. True to its name, the futuristic museum is displaying its cutting-edge technology with its latest addition!

While its true, that you may have a 4 legged, robotic pupper following you around the museum, what’s even better is that the museum is inviting members of the public to suggest creative names for this advanced four-legged robot through its social media handles.

The robodog, designed by US-based tech firm Boston Dynamics, is equipped with 3D vision and 17 joints for movement. It will greet visitors in the museum lobby and visitors will be able to interact and play with it.

This robodog is an advanced machine learning robot that can map terrain, avoid obstacles and balance on uneven surfaces with 360-degree perception. It can navigate stairs, gravel and rough terrain while collecting 2D and 3D information with on-board sensors.

Majed Al Mansoori, deputy executive director at the Museum of the Future, said, “We are excited to welcome the latest addition to our family of intelligent robots. With Ameca, the robodog, and others, the Museum of the Future enables visitors to meet some of the most cutting-edge and advanced robots and AI systems currently on the market.”

The Museum of the Future is already home to other robots like Ameca, the AI-powered humanoid robot, Bob, the robot barista, a robotic flying penguin, a flying jellyfish and many more. Visitors can experience the future of robotics and AI first hand and get a glimpse into what the future holds.
