Starting Monday, February 3rd a new animal ownership service is set to be launched and it will now become mandatory to register your microchipped pets. Who Needs To Register & When?
According to the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), individual pet owners are being given a one-year grace period to complete their pets’ registration without facing any penalties. However, if you’re running an business that owns cats or dogs, you’ll need to wrap up the registration process in six months! But don’t worry, these registration fees won’t burn any holes in your wallet because they are totally free (as of further notice).
Where & How To Register
Registration will soon be available through the TAMM portal. Starting in February, you can visit any veterinary facility in Abu Dhabi to register your pets. The platform will also make it easy for businesses to register multiple animals and transfer ownership if needed.
