If you’ve ever huffed and puffed on a treadmill while glaring at a wall, congratulations – Dubai has found you a better view. The Dubai Mallathon is in full swing, and no, it doesn’t involve sprinting to the sales section at H&M (though, honestly, that should be an Olympic sport). Launched by Sheikh Hamdan on July 24, the Mallathon has turned nine of the city’s favourite malls into fitness tracks. From Dubai Mall to Mall of the Emirates and even the Springs Souk, you can now clock your 10k while passing Sephora instead of sweating under the sun.

What’s Happening At The Dubai Mallathon 2025
Every day until the end of August, between 7am and 10am, you can walk, jog, or run inside these air-conditioned giants. There are 10k, 5k, and 2.5k runs plus easy-going walks for those who’d rather call it “active window shopping.”
And if you’re late to the party, relax – you can still register until 11:54pm on August 30 at dubaimallathon.ae. Registration is free, and you’ll get a digital Mallathon card to flash with pride.
The Crown Prince Who Runs the Talk
A fitness enthusiast and keen adventurer, Sheikh Hamdan is no stranger to these health-focused drives — he’s the face behind the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge, with its blockbuster events Dubai Run and Dubai Ride. The Mallathon is his latest attempt to prove that Dubai is a city where fitness can sneak into your daily routine, even if your daily routine is “coffee, shop, repeat.”
The Malls Involved In Dubai Mallathon 2025

The Dubai Mallathon isn’t some hidden underground event – it’s happening right where Dubai lives and breathes: in the malls. The participating malls include:
- Dubai Mall
- Mall of the Emirates
- Dubai Hills Mall
- Deira City Centre
- City Centre Mirdif
- Dubai Marina Mall
- The Springs Souk
- Dubai Festival City Mall
- Dubai Festival Plaza
And no one’s expecting you to wander around lost like a confused tourist. Each mall has a clearly marked starting point – for example, Caffe Nero at Dubai Mall, Tim Hortons at Dubai Hills, and even Carrefour at the Springs Souk. Grab your bearings, tie your laces, and go.

The Main Event Runs
While daily casual runs are happening throughout the month, each mall also has a “main event” distance run. Upcoming dates include:
- Saturday August 23 – City Centre Deira
- Sunday August 24 – Dubai Mall
- Saturday August 30 – Dubai Hills Mall
- Sunday August 31 – Dubai Festival City Mall
Why Dubai Mallathon Works
Apart from the smug satisfaction of saying “I did 5k before breakfast,” participants also get access to special deals at mall restaurants and shops. So yes, you can burn calories and earn discounts – the dream combo. As Sheikh Hamdan put it, the Mallathon is about making familiar spaces inspire movement. Which basically means your favourite mall is now your gym, your racetrack, and your post-run brunch spot.
So, lace up. Because in Dubai, even fitness comes with air-conditioning and a side of retail therapy.
