It hasn’t been long since Apple dropped the iPhone 17, yet the tech world is already buzzing about what’s coming next. Some early leaks have already spilled and we’ve all the tea you want to know. Rumours hint that the iPhone 18 will have some bold choices – including a potential transparent rear glass on the Pro model. If Apple actually goes ahead with that, it could be one of its most futuristic looks yet. While the phone is not expected to arrive until late 2026, the rumours are piling up fast. Keep reading to find out everything we know so far.

Release Dates & Pricing
Apple’s September launch cycle has been almost sacred. However, the latest rumours circulating the market suggest that the standard iPhone 18 may show up fashionably late. Possibly Spring 2027, debuting next to a brand-new model called the iPhone 18e. But, all is not lost as it seems like the iPhone 18 Pro models and the highly anticipated iPhone Fold are still set for a September 2026 launch. So business as usual.
If these launch date rumours are true, this could be Apple’s strategic move to nudge more buyers toward the premium Pro series. Though it’s not without risk as the standard iPhone has been incredibly popular this year. And what about the iPhone Air? Its place in the lineup is still a mystery.
When it comes to pricing, nothing is confirmed. The iPhone 17 stayed at $799 for the base model and $1,099 for the Pro. Analysts believe Apple will keep these price points for now. Mostly because raising prices two years in a row is unlikely, even for Apple.
Design Rumours
Since the iPhone 17 lineup already refreshed Apple’s look, don’t expect anything too dramatic next time. Still, a few interesting changes are being whispered about. The biggest? The iPhone 18 Pro could come with a transparent back, giving off a clean, sci-fi feel while keeping the classic Apple silhouette.
Screen sizes are expected to stay the same:
- 6.3 inches for iPhone 18 and 18 Pro
- 6.5 inches for the next iPhone Air
- 6.9 inches for the iPhone 18 Pro Max
The front side may see the real glow-up. Apple is reportedly testing under-display Face ID, which could remove the Dynamic Island entirely and leave just a single punch-hole camera. Other reports say Apple might simply shrink the existing Face ID pill instead. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. And because Apple loves doing the most with their colours (yes I am talking about the bright orange) the Pro models might arrive in brown, purple, and burgundy.
Camera Upgrades – More Detail, More Control
If you’re into photography, the iPhone 18 rumours may get you excited. A 24MP front camera is expected across the lineup. Except for the entry-level iPhone 18e. That’s a solid jump from the iPhone 17’s 18MP selfie shooter. The Pro and Pro Max models may also introduce a variable aperture system, giving users more control over lighting and depth. Especially useful for low-light shots or artistic blur effects.
Apple is also said to be simplifying the Camera Control button to reduce production costs. The good news? It will reportedly keep its pressure-sensitive features.
It’s still early, but one thing is clear – the iPhone 18 family is shaping up to be another headline-grabber. The only potential catch is the rumoured delay of the base model until 2027. Which might test the patience of Apple fans if the Pro and Fold models hit shelves months earlier.
But don’t forget all these details are just leaks and rumours, so far, Apple could always end up surprising everyone! Stay tuned to Gulf Buzz, we’ll keep you updated as soon as more details drop!
