For government employees, the holiday runs from Thursday, 19 March to Sunday, 22 March, with work resuming on Monday, 23 March. Private sector employees will enjoy Thursday, 19 March, to Saturday, 21 March. However, if Ramadan lasts 30 days, their break also extends to Sunday, 22 March.
Here’s How You Can Stretch Your Break To 9 Days
Want to maximise your downtime? Simply request annual leave from Monday to Thursday, 16-19 March. Combine that with weekends and the official Eid holidays, and voilà, you get nine days off! From Saturday, 14 March to Sunday, 22 March.
Eid’s exact start depends on the crescent moon. UAE authorities will check the moon on 18 March. If observed, Ramadan ends on the 18th. If not, fasting continues until 19 March, and Eid begins on 20 March.
