In 2025, UAE decided to go all out with one thing. Any guesses? No, not flying taxis or AI that walks your dog. It’s matcha. Glorious, grassy, antioxidant-loaded matcha, in every size, form, and vessel imaginable. And boy, are we in for a treat (or a green-tinted spiral, depending on your caffeine tolerance) .From sipping it out of a coconut to unboxing it from a literal mailbox, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are serving matcha in forms so fabulous you’ll start wondering if water ever really mattered. Let’s take a tour of this leafy green wonder that has gone from zen monk to diva influencer in the span of a few cafes. Oh, and you might wanna buckle up for this ride!

Matcha From A Mailbox
I was in no way emotionally prepared for the sheer adorableness. Imagine this! A little drive-thru kiosk where your matcha gets delivered through a literal mailbox. Like you’re receiving a caffeinated love letter from a green tea fairy who totally gets your trust issues. Just place your order via Beanz or Deliveroo, and voila, your matcha magically appears through the cutest little slot in the UAE. While I personally wouldn’t recommend relying on this system for emotional support (you won’t find a handwritten apology from your ex in there), I must admit, receiving a drink through a tiny letterbox was strangely therapeutic. Possibly because it required no social interaction and included caffeine.

Matcha In A Coconut
Is this not the cutest idea you’ve ever heard? They scoop out a real coconut, fill it with chilled coconut water, top it with matcha foam, and hand it to you like you’re a celeb on a beach retreat. It’s AED 42, but honestly worth it just for the pic. It’ll instantly make you feel more zen. Also, just a heads up. It may make you consider quitting your 9-5 and becoming a coconut drink model. Unfortunately that’s not a thing. Yet.

Matcha in a Handbag?!
Move over designer bags, there’s a new must-have accessory in town and it’s filled with matcha. Seriously, you haven’t truly lived until your drink comes in a glass handbag. I’m not kidding! Abdul’s Coffee gives you matcha in a see-through bag! Along with a glass straw, and you get to keep it. Refills are AED 25. Bargain, really. Reusable, stylish, and strong enough to make even Kendall Jenner jealous. Before you begin sipping, don’t forget to sashay down the street clutching your new beverage bag like it’s a Birkin.

Matcha In a Cone
You don’t need to remortgage your soul for a good dessert in this town because Best Peak Ice Cream in B1 Mall, Al Barsha is dishing out matcha ice cream for a jaw-dropping AED 10. And it’s actually good, none of that chalky, artificial green horror. This is smooth, creamy, and, dare I say it, worthy of a second scoop. Was about to order second when a small child glared at me for hogging the counter. Left gracefully. Returned 30 minutes later in sunglasses.

Matcha In A Giant 2.5L Jug
BohoX Cafe is serving up a 2.5L iced matcha latte in a jug so large it should come with a seatbelt. Made with coconut milk and probably designed for sharing (although nobody’s enforcing that), this green monstrosity is perfect for the indecisive soul who wants to hydrate, caffeinate, and make a statement all at once.

Matcha In A Can
So apparently, canned matcha is now a thing in Dubai, and honestly, why did no one think of this sooner? One Coffee House is serving it up all chilled and sealed – perfect for clumsy queens like me who spill everything but secrets. Made fresh with agave syrup (because sugar is so 2012), it’s the ideal sip for beach bags, car rides, or pretending to be that girl who always has her life together.

Now if someone could invent matcha that pays bills and answers emails, we’d be SO set.
