A Journey Into The Desert
For the ultimate Liwa experience, the journey is part of the wholesome experience. The nearly three-hour drive from Al Ain gradually replaces cityscapes with open horizons of the desert. By the time visitors arrive, the expansive dunes and serene landscapes have already set the tone for a magical night.
The Sky And Sand Come Alive
Even before darkness falls, the excitement is palpable. Military aircraft performed precise aerial displays above Tal Moreeb, one of the UAE’s tallest dunes. Simultaneously building anticipation for the main event, where the dunes themselves take centre stage. Projection mapping turns the slopes of Tal Moreeb into a glowing canvas, tracing Liwa’s journey from traditional desert life to its status as a modern winter destination for adventurous experiences.
Desert Magic Comes To Life With Drones And Fireworks
Kicking off the winter festival, a fleet of drones ascended into the sky, crafting elaborate designs and shapes during the captivating 16-minute show. The visual treat continued as fireworks illuminated the desert, prompting an appreciative applause from spectators gathered.
An Experience That Goes Beyond The Dunes
While the dunes are the core of the experience, Liwa Village takes it up a notch, giving you a festival experience with entertainment zones, creative workshops, and a classic car museum! It goes without saying that a festival is complete without food. For foodies, there were Emirati favourites and international cuisine, ensuring there was something for everyone.
Ending The Night With The Roar Of Engines
All good things must eventually come to an end, and Liwa Festival concluded the experience with adrenaline-pumping motorsports. Engines roared, and cars drifted in a dedicated arena, reflecting Liwa’s long-standing connection to car culture and desert adventure. There was no better way to end the night full of pure desert magic.
