DXB Once Again Holds The Title Of ‘The World’s Busiest International Airport’ In 2024

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has done it again, securing its place as the world’s busiest international airport in 2024. With an impressive 60.2 million seats, DXB shows no signs of slowing down. According to aviation analytics company OAG, this marks a 7% jump in airline capacity compared to 2023 and a 12% rise from pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Keep reading for all the incredible details you needs to know – and if you keep reading till the end I’ll even share with you all the fun and free things you can do while at DXB!

Aviation On A Colossal Scale

DXB connects travellers to 269 destinations across 106 countries, served by 101 international airlines. Its top destination countries include India, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and Pakistan. Not only does DXB dominate international rankings, but it also holds the second spot among the busiest airports in the world when factoring in both domestic and international flights. OAG explained that these rankings are based on scheduled one-way airline capacity for the year 2024. In the first half of the year alone, DXB welcomed 44.9 million passengers, with India and China driving much of this demand. The airport’s full-year traffic stats will be announced in early 2025.
