1. Watch A Movie Under The Stars
Recommend place: VOX Moonlight Cinema
There’s something so special about watching a movie outdoors, and VOX Moonlight makes it even better. Set on the rooftop of Galleria Mall Al Wasl, this open-air cinema comes with ultra-comfy seating. Think bean bags, loungers, and cozy cabanas for two. You can catch the latest Hollywood, Bollywood, and Arabic hits while snacking on everything from burgers and hotdogs to sushi and fancy mocktails, all served right to your seat.

Tip: Go for an early screening to catch the sunset before the show starts. And totally bring a light jacket for those chilly evening viewings.
2. Explore Dubai’s Art Scene
Recommend place: Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz
Winter is the perfect time to explore Alserkal Avenue, Dubai’s creative playground filled with art galleries, installations, and cultural events. And the best part is, most of the things you can see at Alserkal is FREE. The cool weather makes wandering between warehouse-style galleries and outdoor exhibits a total delight. It’s the kind of outing where you can sip on iced lattes and matcha, admire local art, and enjoy a relaxed evening without the usual rush of indoor malls.

Tip: Check for evening openings or exhibits between 6–9pm. They often come with live music or pop-up cafés, perfect for a laid-back winter night out.
3. Dine Under The Desert Stars
Recommend place: The Winter Nest by The Nest by Sonara, Dubai Desert
If you want a winter dining experience that feels straight out of a dream, this one’s for you. The Winter Nest blends alpine charm with the golden desert dunes. From private chalets, twinkling fairy lights, and fine dining under the stars, you get the entire experience here. You’ll find cosy winter favourites like fondue and raclette on the menu, all set against the backdrop of a serene desert night. It’s pure magic, especially when the air gets crisp and clear after sunset.

Tip: This pop-up only runs through winter, . Dress warmly, and if you can, pick a dune-facing chalet for the best views.
4. Stroll Through History At Al Seef
Recommend place: Dubai Creek
There’s no better time than winter to wander through Al Seef. The charming creekside destination combines old Dubai vibes with a touch of modern flair. Think narrow alleyways, lantern-lit streets, and cafés that smell like Arabic coffee and freshly baked bread. You can explore heritage shops, hop on a traditional abra, and soak in the calm evening atmosphere by the water. It’s a lovely break from the city’s usual fast pace.

Tip: Arrive before sunset to catch that golden-hour glow over the creek, then grab a seat at a café for a peaceful evening by the water.
5. Cycle Through The Desert At Sunrise
Recommend place: Al Qudra Cycle Track
When the city is still asleep, there’s a different kind of magic out at Al Qudra. The early morning chill, open desert views, and a smooth cycling path that stretches for miles. It’s one of the best ways to start a winter day in Dubai. You can rent bikes easily, ride alongside desert lakes, and maybe even spot gazelles wandering nearby. It’s equal parts fitness, adventure, and mindfulness rolled into one.

Tip: Head out before sunrise for the best experience. Dress in layers (it’s chilly before dawn), pack plenty of water, and definitely make your ride with a buddy for a more wholesome experience.
6. Step Into A Rainforest In The City
Recommend place: The Green Planet, City Walk
And for my indoor babies, yes, not all winter days have to be outdoors! The Green Planet offers a tropical escape right in the heart of Dubai. This bio-dome is filled with lush greenery, exotic animals, and over 3,000 plants, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a rainforest. It’s the perfect balance. Start your day enjoying Dubai’s cool weather outside, then warm up inside this lush indoor paradise. Families and nature lovers will especially enjoy this one.

Tip: After exploring, grab a coffee at one of the outdoor cafés in City Walk and soak up the winter vibes in a more outdoorsy way.
