Though Dubai doesn’t lie on the fault line, the risk of experiencing an earthquake in this region is very low. But Dubai does experience minor tremors from time to time. One such was experienced just today morning.
On Thursday, March 17, around 3.15 a.m., the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) recorded an earthquake (UAE time). The earthquake occurred in southern Iran but was felt by individuals in the United Arab Emirates. According to the NCMS, the earthquake registered 5.0 on the Richter scale.

Though no damages or injuries were reported, residents felt slight tremors from the earthquake. Previously, the NCM reported a 7.4 magnitude earthquake on Japan’s east coast at about 7 p.m. (UAE time) on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
