Dubai Opera Ranks Third Among World’s Most Beautiful Theatres

In a recent study, commissioned by Premiere Inn to find out which is the most beautiful & eye catching theatres across the globe, our very own Dubai Opera ranked third across 36 entries, and came in first place for the most beautiful theatre from the outside. Read on to know all the details:

World’s Most Beautiful Theatres – Dubai Opera Ranks Third

As the Christmas season draws near, Premiere Inn did a survey to find out the most beautiful theatres across the globe by conducting an eye-tracking study. What is an eye-tracking study? Well, to put it simply participants were asked to look at a series of images of the theatres. The one which drew the eye the most, was added to the winning list.

According to the study, here are the top 10 most beautiful theatres in the world:

1. Minack Theatre in Cornwall, England
2. Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles, USA
3. Dubai Opera, Dubai, UAE
4. Fox Theatre, Detroit, USA
5. The Winter Garden, Toronto, Canada
6. Shakespeare’s Globe, London, England
7. Guangzhou Opera House, Guangzhou, China
8. Grand Opera House, Belfast, Northern Ireland
9. Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Athens, Greece
10. Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, Wales

World’s Most Beautiful Theatre From The Outside – Dubai Opera Ranks First

When it comes to the world’s most beautiful theatres as seen from the outside, The Dubai Opera House outperformed all other theatres in the list, with its unique leaning architecture and large floor-to-ceiling windows offering a glimpse of the wonders held inside.

The iconic dhow-shaped building of Dubai Opera is a masterpiece of contemporary design and a stylish tribute to Dubai’s maritime history. The building’s exquisite design is by Atkins and lead architect Janus Rostock. It is spread across 650,000 sq ft, has a seating capacity of 2000, and was opened on 31st August 2016.

It has the exceptional ability to transform into three modes; from a theatre into a concert hall, and into a ‘flat floor’ mode becoming a banquet or event hall. This seamless flexibility enables Dubai Opera to host a wide variety of performances and events including theatre, opera, ballet, orchestras, concerts, fashion shows, live entertainment, conferences, galleries and art exhibitions.
