This Ramadan, a special community initiative in Dubai is offering free eye check-ups, reading glasses, and even funding for eye treatments and surgeries for those who need them. The campaign is led by Noor Dubai Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving eye health, in partnership with the AKCAF Association, a community group representing Kerala college alumni in Dubai. So far, around 700 people have received eye screenings, and over 200 reading glasses have been distributed. Here are the free services being offered this Ramadan:
Dr. Manal Taryam, CEO of Noor Dubai Foundation, emphasised that not only is this programme about helping those who need it with free check-ups, but also ensuring long-term eye health for the community. If needed, patients will be referred to specialised hospitals for further treatment.
