Smooth Travel During Construction
RTA has confirmed that a total of 11 traffic diversions have already been put in place to support ongoing Blue Line work. These include temporary changes near International City 1. Where the entrance from Ras Al Khor Road has been closed as part of stage two construction. Earlier in September, RTA also announced a diversion near Centrepoint Metro Station. Closing the entrance to its multi-storey car park from Airport Road.
While this might sound like a lot of rerouting, all these diversions are planned to ensure safety and steady traffic flow as Dubai continues to expand its metro network.
The Route: Connecting Key Dubai Districts
Once complete, the Dubai Metro Blue Line will completely transform the way people move around the city. The line will connect major communities and reduce the need for private cars, making life easier and greener for everyone.
The Blue Line will stretch in two main directions:

It passing through Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, before reaching International City 1. This is where an underground interchange station will be located). It then continues through International City 2 and 3, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and finally Dubai Academic City. Covering a total of 21 km and featuring 10 stations.
- The second route begins at Centrepoint Interchange Station on the Red Line in Al Rashidiya, running through Mirdif and Al Warqa before connecting to International City 1. This section will stretch 9 km and include four stations.
The project will also feature a depot and maintenance facility in Al Ruwayyah 3, ensuring the network stays efficient and well maintained.
