A Bit Of History Into This World-Class Marathon!
First launched in 1998, the Dubai Marathon has grown into one of the Middle East’s most established long-distance races. It proudly holds World Athletics Gold Label status, attracting elite runners from around the world. Over the years, it’s become known as a race where records fall, legends are made, and Dubai shows off its most iconic scenery.
The Route – It’s Flat, Fast & Packed With Landmarks
The full 42.195km course kicks off near Madinat Jumeirah, before flowing along Al Sufouh Road and onto Jumeirah Beach Road. Wide roads, long straight stretches and minimal turns make it ideal for speed, which is exactly why runners love it. Along the way, you’ll spot:
- Burj Al Arab, appearing more than once along the route
- Jumeirah Beach Hotel hugging the coastline
- Glimpses of the Arabian Gulf along palm-lined roads
- Views near Palm Jumeirah
- A Downtown finish stretch with the Burj Khalifa dominating the skyline
