What Is Bus On Demand?
Before we get into more details, let me break it down for those of you who aren’t familiar with this service. Bus on Demand is a service designed to provide a flexible and convenient way to travel within select areas of Dubai. Instead of waiting for fixed-route buses, passengers can request a ride through the Bus on Demand app. The minibus will then pick them up from their location and drop them at their destination. Each minibus can accommodate up to 13 passengers, making it a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to private taxis. This service is particularly useful in areas where traditional public transport routes may not be as frequent.
Where Is The Service Available?
With the recent expansion, the Bus on Demand service now covers 11 zones in Dubai:
- Academic City
- Al Barsha 1
- Al Nahda
- Al Rigga
- Barsha Heights (New!)
- Business Bay
- Downtown Dubai
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- International City
- Karama
- Oud Metha (New!)

How Much Does It Cost?
Here’s the part that might shock you the most. RTA has reduced the fare from AED 5 to just AED 2 per trip per passenger! This makes it one of the most affordable ways to get around Dubai.
