Recently, Abu Dhabi’s environment authorities announced the sighting of a rare Bryde’s whale in Abu Dhabi waters. The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi said that the presence of this particular whale in Emirati waters is a sign of the quality, an abundance of food and health of the waters.
Bryde’s whales measure anywhere between 12 and 16 metres and they are a species of Baleen whales. These species also include humpback and blue whales. The EAD asks residents to keep a safe distance if they spot or encounter a Bryde’s whale.
