They’re strongly advising all passengers to double-check with their airlines before heading to the airport. Keep reading for all the important information you need to know.
Major Airlines Impacted By Regional Airspace Closures
This wave of disruptions comes after several regional airspace closures across Iran, Iraq, Israel, and nearby areas, which continue to affect flights to and from the UAE. Major carriers like Emirates, Etihad, flydubai, and Air Arabia have been forced to cancel flights or adjust routes to avoid affected airspace. Travellers flying through Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah (especially to destinations across the Middle East) are being encouraged to keep a close eye on their flight status. Many have been asked to consider rebooking their travel as schedules remain unpredictable.
Etihad Suspends Tel Aviv Flights
Etihad Airways has officially cancelled all flights between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv until June 22. The airline cited ongoing regional tensions and airspace restrictions as the main reasons for this disruption. They also warned that more delays might pop up in the coming days. Etihad made it clear that travellers trying to transit through Abu Dhabi to catch these cancelled flights won’t be accepted for travel from their starting destinations. Passengers affected by this are being offered alternative travel solutions.
