After over a year off UAE’s flight radar, a fan-favourite is finally heading back. Get ready, because your next spontaneous European escape just got a whole lot more affordable. Wizz Air is officially returning to Dubai International Airport from Saturday, October 24, bringing back the budget-friendly flights UAE travellers have missed. Where Can You Fly With Wizz Air This Season
Two big routes are kicking things off on launch day: Bucharest (Romania) and Budapest (Hungary).
- Budapest: 5 flights a week from Dubai
- Flights depart Dubai daily at 9:05pm, landing in Romania around 12:40am local time, operated by Wizz Air Malta.
- Expect fares of around AED 700 return, or AED 325 one-way, with slight shifts depending on the day you travel.
- Bucharest Otopeni: daily flights from Dubai
- You can fly there every day except Tuesdays and Saturdays, on which you can fly via AUH instead.
- Fares sit around AED 558 return, or AED 289 one-way, again fluctuating slightly by day.

Is This Welcome Back Going To Be Longterm?
This isn’t Wizz Air’s first comeback attempt, and it’s not being framed as a “forever and permanent” return either. The return follows Wizz Air’s decision to suspend its locally based Abu Dhabi operation and exit its regional joint venture back in September 2025. The airline hasn’t fully confirmed whether these routes will now be run by its European entities or involve a new locally based operation.
That said, the current comeback looks solid for the season ahead. Wizz Air has confirmed that flights to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, along with services to Jeddah and Amman, will progressively return to its network from late October, and the airline says the returning services will provide 470,000 seats over the winter season across 12 routes. So while nothing’s been billed as “permanent” in the traditional sense, it’s shaping up to be a proper winter-season relaunch rather than a quick one-off.
