So, the rumours are true. Al Ain Zoo took the summer off and now they’re coming back with a glow up you could have never expected. From September 5 until October 4, Al Ain Zoo is trading in the ordinary for something extraordinary that can only happen after dark… They’ve also extended their opening hours to 2PM-10PM so families can actually stick around and catch the magic once the sun goes down. With so many new things glowing on this season, you’re not going to want to miss the fun at Al Ain Zoo’s new Glow In The Dark Festival! Is The Zoo Really Going To Glow?
All you need to do is wait until 5PM strikes and that’s when the entire park lights up at once. I’m talking illuminated animal displays, glow-in-the-dark face painting, and not to mention performances like no other. You can expect Performers dressed head-to-toe in LED and glowing stilt walkers wander the grounds all night. So there’s genuinely something to catch your eye wherever you turn.
And the one thing to really keep an eye out for? Nature Venture. A brand new after-dark show that’s never been seen before, telling animal kingdom stories in a way that’s built for families to enjoy together. Think less of just “sit-and-watch” and more of “get pulled straight into the story.”
But Don’t Sleep On The Daytime Stuff Either
Glow After Dark might be the newest shiny thing this season, but the daytime classics are still very much worth the early trip. The Safari is still one of the best ways to get properly close to African wildlife, giraffe feeding included (it never stops being a highlight, no matter your age). And if you haven’t done the Lemur Walk yet, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Up close and personal with the Zoo’s cheekiest, most social residents out of the 4,000 animals they are home to.

There are also 6 different places to eat scattered around the Zoo, so nobody’s stuck deciding between “hungry” and “having fun.” Fancy something a bit fancier?
