What’s Changing On The Roads
More than 10 schools across these 6 districts – Wadi Al Safa 4, Al Barsha, Umm Al Sheif, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City and Al Sufouh are set to benefit. Let’s take a closer look:
1. A brand-new road for Motor City families
One of the standout projects is a new road connecting Al Qudra Road and Hessa Street, running right through Dubai Motor City and Dubai Studio City. This makes getting to and from GEMS Metropole School, Motor City noticeably easier.
2. Double the parking at Horizon International School
Parents dropping off or picking up at Horizon International School in Umm Al Sheif will notice a real difference too, RTA has doubled the parking capacity there by adding extra spaces, so no more circling the block looking for a spot.
3. Smoother entrances for Al Barsha and Al Sufouh schools
Over in Al Barsha South, RTA upgraded the entrances and exits of the service road next to the schools complex there. And in Al Sufouh, drivers around The International School of Choueifat – Dubai will benefit from new at-grade traffic improvements.
4. Safer streets around GEMS Winchester School – Dubai
In Wadi Al Safa 4, the road near GEMS Winchester School – Dubai has been upgraded, along with new traffic-calming measures around nearby schools to help keep things safe.
A Friendly Reminder For Everyone On The Road As Back To School Starts
RTA is also using this as a chance to remind parents and school-bus drivers to stick to the designated pick-up and drop-off points, steer clear of spaces reserved for People of Determination or emergency vehicles, and stay extra alert around kids near school entrances. And for everyone else on the road: slow down near schools, follow the signs, and always stop when a school bus flashes its warning signals. Small things, but they go a long way in keeping everyone safe.
