What’s The Minimum Amount To Qualify?
There is one catch before you decide to use an instalment plan. Your total fines need to add up to at least AED 3,000 to use this service. If your fines come in under that, you’ll just need to pay them the regular way through Dubai Police’s usual channels.
How Do You Actually Apply?
It’s all done online, so no need to queue up anywhere. Here’s the rundown:
- Head to the Dubai Police website (www.dubaipolice.gov.ae) and find the Traffic Fines Inquiry and Payment service.
- Pop in your vehicle or number plate details to see what fines you owe.
- Pick the fines you want to pay off, then select “Pay via Direct Debit Instalments.”
- Fill in your details. Your Emirates ID and bank info will be needed.
- The system will show you which banks currently support the instalment programme.
- Submit your request, and your chosen bank will review it. If you’re approved, your fines get split into monthly payments based on the schedule you agreed to.
Make sure to double-check your fines meet the requirements and that your bank actually takes part in the programme before you start the process.
What Do You Need To Tick Off Before Applying?
A few boxes need checking before you’re eligible:
- Your fines must total at least AED 3,000.
- This only works for fines issued by Dubai Police specifically. Fines from other emirates or GCC countries don’t count.
- The Emirates ID you use has to belong to whoever owns the vehicle.
- Your bank needs to approve the plan before anything gets activated.
- Usually, all your Dubai Police fines linked to that vehicle need to be settled together as one package, not picked apart individually.
Which Banks Are On Board?

Since banks and eligibility rules can shift over time, it’s worth giving your bank a call or checking the Dubai Police website for the latest details before you apply.
The Most Commonly Asked – Can You Use Tabby?
And the one question dubai residents have been asking the most recently is, can you use tabby to pay for your fines? The short answer is yes! RTA has integrated Tabby across all its digital channels, meaning you can now use it right on the RTA website, the RTA app, the nol Pay app, and at smart kiosks. Previously it was only available through smart kiosks, so this is a proper expansion of the service.
One thing worth noting is that this option is separate from the Dubai Police bank-led instalment plan mentioned above. The one requiring a AED 3,000 minimum and bank approval over 3, 6 or 12 months. Tabby is run through the RTA rather than Dubai Police directly, so it’s worth checking which channel you’re paying through. RTA’s digital platforms versus the Dubai Police website. Since the instalment terms differ between the two.
What If You Live Outside Dubai?
Living in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, or Fujairah? You’re covered too. The UAE’s Ministry of Interior runs a similar instalment service with no extra charges, available through banks like RAKBANK, Emirates Islamic, Commercial Bank of Dubai, and FAB.
